Boy, things have changed in the past year. We've gotten reorganized, have different furniture, added more family members, and new truths that God has shown us for this journey through life. One of those truths are about movies.
See, one night the whole family got together and we had a talk. To start off, at this time I was half-way through the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Basically this is how the conversation went. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Harry Potter (especially Harry Potter) all deal with WITCHCRAFT.
First, we need to follow and basically obey Romans 12:2 "And do not be CONFORMED to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of you mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God!" (NKJV) Witchcraft is "of this world" and witches get their powers from who? Satan the EVIL ONE. God would not give you that power.
There is also no such thing as a "good" wizard or witch. We fight against this stuff! Not people though. Because Ephesians 6:12 says, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, of the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (NKJV) Very Powerful stuff!
Star Wars has mind control, Lord of the Ring has wizards and witchcraft, Narnia has magic, Harry Potter is all about that kind of stuff!
When us kids heard this stuff we were like, "Aw Man!" But now, I guess the Holy spirit has convicted me and I'm O.K. with all that's going on. Think about how the saints in Bible time felt about this, or Jesus!
Please do not be "of this world" and do not follow the practice of the world.
